February is the month of love. And we don’t just mean romantic love. Here at United Way, it’s about sharing our love of Toronto—the city we help to strengthen every single day. One of the ways we best share it is at ROUGE, the signature United Way GenNext® fundraising event for people in their 20s and 30s (even those of us inching our way over 40 who want to have a good time!). It’s a night of food, music and like-minded people coming together to share their love of Toronto.
And, while we’re at it, we also wanted to share what you love about T.O. Here’s just some of what you’ve told us:
I love High Park! A very democratic, welcoming place… like big T.O. (Fernando Lusvarghi)
I love the energy in Toronto—where individuals and groups of people, working independently and/or collaborating, advocate to address issues they believe in, contributing to an exciting and hopeful future ahead! (Farrah Chanda Aslam)
I love that someone always freshly repaints that rainbow that you can see going North on the DVP. (Fiona Innis)
A year ago I was suffering from a herniated disk. It was very painful at times. Not a day went by without a fellow Torontonian stopping to ask if “I was ok” or someone would offer me a seat on the TTC. The pain must have been clearly visible on my face. I felt very comforted and touched by the fact that people were looking out for me 🙂 Thanks T.O. I’ve lived here all my life and you’re still the best! (Lori Bottrell)
I moved here almost eight years ago and I have never been more in love ❤ I just wish I could find a *man* like Toronto…Exciting, colourful, compassionate, international yet home after a long day. I love this town! (Louisa Vaszary)
Having lived in smaller cities in Ontario, I really love the multiculturalism of Toronto. Not only do I enjoy being able to eat delicious food from pretty much anywhere in the world, I also love being able to learn from others about different approaches to life and ways of seeing things. Living in Toronto has definitely enriched my life. (Linda Brennan)
I love T.O. for being a city full of individuals and families that inspire me and my colleagues every day. They inspire us to not only dedicate our time and talents to a mission we feel passionate about, but also to put our money where our hearts are.
Leave a comment and tell us why you heart T.O.
